Swope Trailwork this Saturday, May 15th

Things are progressing nicely on Phase 3, so we're going to hit it again this Saturday, May 15th.

This week we had: Brent Gowin, Alejandro Schlegill, Steve Dowell, Drew VanBiber, Joe Shost, Scott Capstack, Travis Stephens, and Craig Stoeltzing. We were able to get a nice bench put in...we're really cookin' now. Phase 3 has been coming along nicely the last month, and with some luck we're looking at a late June opening.

This Saturday we'll have a couple options on where to work.
1) We'll be working at the top of the hill on the beginner trail. This work will mainly consist of clearing trail and removing stumps.
2) We'll also be working more on the intermediate (yellow flagging) line focusing on bench cut and tread work.

Beginner trailworkers all the way to advanced trailbuilders are encouraged to come out. We'll have plenty to do no matter your level of experience.

DETAILS:
Saturday, May 15th, 8a-12p (come and go as your schedule allows.)
Meeting Place: Hogan/swimming pool at Camp Lake of the Woods on top of the hill. From the main Swope trailhead, drive up Oakwood Drive, take a left at the "Y" and continue on about 300 yards. See map on the right hand side of the page for directions to the Swope Park trails.

Tools: The usual trail tools...Rakes, Shovels, McLeods, Pulaskis, Rogue Hoes, Weedeaters, Blowers, Handsaws, Chainsaws, etc. If you don't have tools, come anyway...we should have plenty.

RIDE AFTERWARDS:
If the trails are rideable, we'll do a trail tasting of the new stuff. Workdays are the only time you'll get a chance to ride phase 3 before it's open, so come work then get your ride on!

SAVE THE DATE:
June 5th, National Trails Day Work Day...more details to follow.

Hope to see you there!
